Hey all!

I just want to give everyone an update on how training went and where things are as far as me and my team leaving for the field.

As most of you know I spent the month of June down in the Blue Ridge Mountain Range of North Carolina for some Cross Cultural Training (CIT). My time away was both physically relaxing and mentally stimulating. And although I’m glad to be back I miss the time spent with my teammates and new friends but look forward to hearing about the wonderful things God is going to do through those who I met.

Some of my favorite things that were discussed were taking the DISC profile test and learning more about ourselves. For me I’m a high “S” which stands for steady. We also discussed world view, spiritual warfare, contextualization, cross-cultural communication, team dynamics as well as cultural stress, expectations and reentry. There’s a lot more which I can give you more information on but in order to keep this post short I’ll move on. But all that to say it was a great month!

As for me and my team we are chomping at the bit to go! While we were there we got to speak to our director about when we could leave and their expectations for us. As of right now I’m at 77.4% funded and need to be fully funded before I can get the green light to go, the rest of the team also needs to be fully funded in order to go. One of the things discussed was the possibility of going to Guatemala for a month before leaving for the field. The idea is that we would get some more training by others from our organization. They would like to see our team create a home base of sorts for the short term mission’s trips they do to Cambodia. The team in Guatemala is doing that now and they’re doing it well enough that that they would like us to learn from them and to take that to the field with us.

If you all would please keep mine and my teams fundraising in your prayer I would appreciate it. We are ready to go whenever God say to leave and we’ll trust in His provision.

Come, Lord Jesus!

  1. Paul gives us a promise of God in Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Because God keeps His promises, I’m looking forward to seeing how He will provide for this next season of your life which you have committed to Him. I’m glad your training went well. My prayers are with you continually.
