Hello Friends and Family!

I know my posts and updates have been very sporadic, but now that we have dates on when we’ll be leaving and things are starting to pick up I hope to get into a better and more consistent grove with the blog and newsletter updates.

My team and I will be leaving around October 11th to head down to the World Race training camp in Tennessee. For those I haven’t had the chance to tell in person yet, our team leaders lead praise and worship for AIM’s World Race training camp as well as during the offices morning devotional time. And the rest of our team has been invited to join the World Racers and our leaders for a week of team building exercises and fellowship. This will be a great time to get to know my leaders on a deeper level and to also regroup with my team members I met at our CIT training this past June. Training runs from the 12th through the 19th. My team and I will stay in the area up until the 1st of November when we will depart for Guatemala.

Our purpose for going to Guatemala is to get some hands on training by a team there. One of our teams goals while in Cambodia is to develop an AIM home base or hub for when their short term missionaries come through. We will act like a liaison of sorts between the organization and the ministries we partner with. We’ll also act as hosts to those short term teams helping them to get around the area and with anything else they may need assistance in. The reason we are going to Guatemala is because the long term team that is there has already developed a successful home base that AIM hopes to imitate in Cambodia as well as the other parts of the world where they have long term missionaries. The goal is to be there until the end of November were we will then come back to the states to then fly to Cambodia. The reason we’ll be flying back to the states and then to Cambodia as opposed to just leaving from Guatemala is because it’s cheaper to fly out from the US.

As long as support is where it needs to be for myself and the team and as long as everything continues to go smoothly – God willing, we can expect to be in Cambodia around the beginning of December! I am still in need a few more monthly committed donors. I ask that you would continue to pray that God would move the hearts of those He wants to give and that you would also prayerfully consider if this might be something God is leading you to give to. We are trusting Him to provide for our team and that we will all be fully financially supported by the time we leave for training camp.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers as I fallow Gods call for my life. If you would also keep the rest of the team in your prayers and as we all continue to get ready to move and this time as transition. Looking forward to giving you all the exciting updates in the weeks and months to come!

Come, Lord Jesus!

  1. Matthew,

Praying for you every day. God will indeed complete the work He has started in you. I’m excited to see how it all develops. You’re a blessing to me and I know you will be wherever He sends you.

  2. We, children of the most high God, have His promise that “He will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Heb. 13:5b). Matt, the Lord has brought you this far …… I’m sure you’ve seen His guiding hand …… and He will, you can be confident, carry you through to the next step, and the next, and …….. (Phil. 1:6).
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delighteth in his way (Psalm 37:23). Our prayers go with you!
